The MAGA (Make America Great Again) March in Sacramento coincided with several marches across the country to show support for uniformed workers, veterans, constitutional rights and support for Trump. Demonstrators gathered at McKinley Park around noon with hundreds of people showing their support, sporting patriotic attire and an array of American flags. The scene was very peaceful, with a full grill cooking hot dogs and soda being served before the march.
As an added security measure, private security was employed to keep protesters from interfering with the march. Members kept watch around the perimeter, communicating on radios while bikers from 2 Million Bikers provided additional security around the marchers. The bikers were simply present to enforce 1st amendment rights of the MAGA March and deny opposition from using violence to intrude.
Four to five counter protesters initially showed up, a few wearing the pink hats from the Women's March, but quickly left the premises. Along the marching route, small pockets of protesters appeared, primarily shouting profanities but they avoided direct confrontation. After returning to the park, the MAGA March was informed that an anti-trump protester slashed two tires of somebody's vehicle who was in attendance. The suspect was quickly arrested by Sacramento PD then a donation to help out the victim buy new tires quickly amassed over $500.
Speaker took to the stage for the last few hours of the event. Will Johnson, who commonly speaks upon political issues online was present as well as Kyle Chapman, aka "Based Stickman" from the Berkeley March 4 Trump demonstration. The event in it's entirety showed a large sense of community and had been well organized. Sacramento police were thanked for the time and effort required to monitor a peaceful demonstration and the crowd disperced from the premises without incident.
