In South San Francisco, Anti-Trump protesters gathered at City Hall on Grand Ave and Maple Ave on February 3rd, 2017. The demonstrators gathered to expressed solidarity with oppressed people currently under attack. The event drew students, families teachers and community members alike. Protesters briefly marched along Grand Ave before gathering in front of City Hall.
Chants from the protesters echoed from the crowd. "No Trump, no KKK, no fascist USA!"
A PA system was in place for speakers to talk with the protesters, of which included instructors and students from the bay area. Personal stories were shared of those who have family members who have recently immigrated to the country, and some of the fears those family members now have from recent immigration actions by President Donald Trump.
Passing cars would often honk their horns in support, and in return the crowd would cheer out and wave.
A police presence was maintained at the demonstration. Although they drew reinforcements, their presence was peaceful. Officers maintained a distance from the crowd and observed without interference.
