The San Francisco Women's March kicked off late in the afternoon at Civic Center Plaza. The crowd grew overwhelmingly large, filling the entire plaza area, UN plaza and the surrounding streets. A mixture of demonstrators came with signs, or made them on spot. As the sun began to set, SFPD cleared Market St. and began marching towards Embarcadero. To assist people with limited mobility, trolley cars were used to transport people along the route, being guided on the ground by volunteer personal.
